Understanding your kitten

You can understand what your kitten wants

Cats are good at letting you know what they want by the sounds they make or their bodies. It won't take long for you to understand what your kitten is trying to tell you.

Meow

As he grows, you will hear less 'meow' from your kitten; but instead, you will learn to understand their more adult, distinctive 'meows'. Low-pitched meow sounds usually indicate that your cat is uncomfortable or unhappy for some reason. A high-pitched meow indicates that she is happier and if it keeps repeating, it means that she wants your attention for some reason. Eventually, you'll know when your cat is trying to say 'put me down', 'give me food' or 'love me'.

It is interesting that meows are almost never directed towards other cats, but almost always towards people. Listen, he is speaking to you!

Pur

Purring is often a sign of contentment; But it doesn't always show that you are happy. A cat that is sick or anxious will sometimes purr in relief. However, your kitten will often rub against you, purring loudly; This is a sign of emotional closeness or shows that he wants something from you, such as food.

Hissing and Growling

If you hear these sounds, you have a scared little kitten. To protect itself, it puffs until it makes scary sounds. You will often hear these hissing and growling during tense encounters with other animals.

Friction

When your kitten turns its face up and rubs against you, it is secreting pheromones. Pheromones are feel-good hormones secreted in your cheeks. This is a good sign as he/she expresses that he/she is really happy with your friendship and shows that he/she likes you.

What the tail tells

A cat's tail is an excellent indicator of its emotions. A happy cat will keep its tail up; If he is scared, he will tuck his tail between his legs. When an adult cat clearly wags its tail, it indicates that it is angry or impatient. If he is really angry, his tail will move rapidly from side to side; This is clearly threatening behavior. A suddenly twitching tail is a sure sign of your kitten's excitement and curiosity.

Perpendicular ears are also an indication that he is interested in what is going on around him. If he stands up first and then bends forward, he is relaxed and friendly. But when a cat's ears fall flat against its head, this is a sign of attack, and in the event of a fight, it will move them out of the way.

Your kitten's 'massages'

It is a common behavior for a cat to rub the area where it is about to sit comfortably, as if massaging. This action shows satisfaction and is a throwback to when he was suckling milk from his mother and massaging her nipple to increase milk flow.

Your cat's temperament characteristics: inquisitive and inquisitive

There is no doubt that the cat has a very curious temperament. Have you ever tried reading the newspaper on the table when your cat is around? It will jump up on the table, sit right in the middle of the newspaper, and challenge you to move it. You will not be able to replace this newspaper with anything; You can try to coax him as much as you want to get onto a comfortable cushion or armchair. From where? Because by settling on the newspaper, it will attract all your attention.

If he rolls onto his back and stretches his legs, your cat is showing that he trusts you and obeys you completely. It also demands attention. If he jumps into your lap and curls up happily, he's undoubtedly examining his new surroundings.
